Rajendra felicitates Mountain Rescue Team, commends their rescue work during yatra

Srinagar, Sep 4, CNS: Director General of Police (DGP). K. Rajendra Kumar has commended Mountain Rescue Team of Jammu and Kashmir Police for their role in rescuing more than 900 pilgrims during Amar Nath Yatra 2015. He has said that the rescue team deployed all along the yatra routes provided assistance to the yatris on the difficult terrains and mountains with high zest of public service.

Mr. Rajendra was addressing the function organised by Armed Headquarters to felicitate the team members at Police Golf Course here yesterday evening. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police have a rich tradition of public service and our jawans and officers are visible at all fronts of policing every time. Besides professional duties JKP responds every call for assistance, whether it is religious congregation or social function, said Mr. Rajendra.

DGP disclosed that Mountain Rescue Team of JKP was deployed all along the mountain routes of Yatra to provide necessary rescue assistance to the Yatris on the difficult terrains. During Yatra the members of the team rescued more than 900 pilgrims and helped them to reach their destinations, he said.

Rajendra asked the team members to keep their spirit of public service high and perform with more dedication and efficiencies, while deployed on other fronts. He said that our priority should be to provide security and assistance to the needy and work like a public servant in the field. People have great expectations with the “men in uniform” and it is our prime duty to fulfil their hopes, said Mr. Rajendra..   

Principal Secretary, Home, Mr. R. K. Goyal and Chief Executive Officer, Amarnath Shrine Board, Mr. P. K. Tripatti also addressed the function and appreciated the performance of rescue team during Yatra 2015.

The function was attended by ADsG, SK Mishra, SP Vaid, SM Sahai  and L. Mohanti, IsGP, AK Choudhary, HK Lohia, SJM Gillani and  SA Watal and other police officers.
