CPI (M) extends its full support to strike call on Sep 7

tarigami press conference1Srinagar,September 6,2015-CNS:-Taking serious cognizance of tardy post flood rehabilitation process in the state, J&K State Committee CPI (M) has said that even after one year has passed by, both Central and the State government have failed to rehabilitate and compensate the flood victims.”

While extending its full support to the strike call on the September 7, given by various traders associations, non-political organizations and flood victims, it said that the much-needed rehabilitation of flood hit people seems to have been deleted from the priorities of the government and same is the case with other sectors of socio-economic development of the state.

“The people of Kashmir who witnessed huge devastation and deaths during last year floods are still awaiting a rehabilitation package while as the BJP led central government is concerned and focusing on its political gains in states heading for elections. This is height of discrimination and double standards,”

While castigating the Union Government’s non serious approach towards flood rehabilitation in the calamity hit Jammu and Kashmir, the Committee stressed on the need for liberal central funding to rehabilitate the flood-hit victims, restore the damaged infrastructure and vital sectors of economy like  trade, tourism, horticulture and agriculture.
