Srinagar, Sep 7, CNS: On the Defence Day of Pakistan, the Jammu and Kashmir's senior pro-freedom leader and Democratic Freedom Party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah extended his heartfelt felicitations to its political, military, religious leadership and civil society.
Terming the strong and prosperous Pakistan vital for the establishment of peace in subcontinent Shah said the Islamic Republic as a nuclear power is the backbone of Muslim Ummah.
Shah who continues to be under house arrest in a statement issued to press said that Pakistan despite facing internal disturbance from its enemies is exhibiting utmost courage and is successfully overcoming all its challenges. "Our prayers are always with this (Pakistan) nation."
He also welcomed the statement of Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharrif regarding the Kashmir termed it satisfactory and encouraging for the oppressed people of Kashmir. "General Raheel Sharrif spoke the voice of Kashmiris and we hope that Pakistan continues with such stand like a rock vis-à-vis Kashmir and highlight the issue at global forums without succumbing to any pressures from India."
Meanwhile, the spokesperson while castigating the state administration over keeping its chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah under continuous house arrest said authorities put complete ban on activities of Shah this year. "In 2015, Shah was placed under house arrest for the period of 97 days and prevented from offering 27 Friday and one Eid prayers."
He severely criticised the Mufti Sayeed led government and questioned his silence on breach of claims of 'Battle of Ideas'. "Mufti's silence since day one is enough proof that he's just a puppet and all the affairs of state are controlled by Nagpur," the spokesperson added. (CNS)
