Hizb claims responsibility of Nowgam Sector attack


Srinagar, Sep 9, CNS:  Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahdeen Wednesday claimed that its Border Squad killed two Indian military personnel and decamped with their sophisticated rifles in Nowgam Sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday morning.

     A caller, Burhanuddin, who identified himself as the Operational Spokesperson of Hizbul Mujhadeen told CNS that Hizb Border Squad launched an attack on an Indian post near Kanyapul Ghodatop in Nowgam Sector in which tow Indian Border Security Forces Personnel were killed. “After putting them to death, the Mujahdeen managed to snatch their service sophisticated rifles and fled from the scene,” he said.

     “The attack was carried out on the directions of HM Field Area Commander and all the Mujhadeen after carrying the attack reached safely at their destinations. Indian posts will be targeted in future as well,” he said.

    Pertinently, an Indian Army official told CNS that Pakistani troops targetted Indian positions along the LoC in Nowgam sector in Kupwara district in which two security personnel were injured. (CNS)
