Srinagar, Sep 9, CNS: Demanding implementation of cabinet decision, Jammu and Kashmir National Youth Cooperation (NYC) Wednesday staged a protest outside the Chief Minister’s residence at Gupkar Road in Srinagar. The protesters mostly females gathered outside the Gupkar based residence of Chief Minister Mufti Muhamamd Sayeed and amid anti-government slogans blocked the vehicular movement on the road.
Pertinently, NYC is on hunger strike from past week. “We will continue our hunger strike unless we are provided with written assurance by the government regarding fulfilment of our demands,” one of the protesters told CNS.
One of the female protesters said that, “Mehbooba Mufti called us inside her house and gave a patient hearing and assured us that she would look into the matter. She directed Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu to visit the protesting NYC youth and take cognizance of the hunger strike.”
The protesting females dispersed after meeting PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. (CNS)
