Jammu,September 15,2015-CNS:-Minister for Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari, along with Minister for Public Works, Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, Syed Altaf Bukhari Tuesday reviewed progress made by the Committee constituted to look into reasons that lead to revision in original cost of the under construction New Legislature complex at Jammu.
The Law Minister had constituted a six member expert Committee to look in the reasons for cost escalations in the said project.
During the meeting, the Ministers sought details from the concerned engineers and representatives of the consulting architect firm with regard to various changes, additions and alterations that have been made in the project after the approval of the original design which finally led to revision in the original cost of the project.
Law Secretary, Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Chief Engineer R&B, Kashmir, A. K. Razdan, MD JKPCC, Hammed Sheikh, Chief Engineer, Procurement & Management, PDD, Khursheed Baddoo, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M. Ramzam, Secretary Legislative Council, Abdul Majeed Bhat, Additional Secretary Law, Achal Sethi, Senior Architect, Faruk Naqashabandi, Sr. Engineer, Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, Qazi Masood, Project Architect from Consultant Engineering Services, New Delhi besides concerned engineers and senior officers were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, MD JKPCC along with the Project architect briefed the Ministers about the additions and alterations that have been incorporated in the revised project under civil, structural, electrical, public address system, acoustics, fixtures and other components, necessitating cost escalation.
The Law Minister directed the Committee to submit a report with its final recommendations by or before 24th of this month.
Meanwhile, the Ministers urged the concerned officers to speed up the pace of work, so that the project is completed within the stipulated time i.e December 2016.
