Srinagar,September 29,2015-CNS:-An amount of Rs. 12.29 crore out of Rs. 38 crore budget provision has been incurred on 2248 ongoing works taken up under MGNERGA by the Rural Development Department in 17 Blocks of District Budgam so far.
This information was given in a meeting convened to review and discuss progress of works taken up under MGNERGA besides status of the ones under Indira Awas Yogna(IAY) here today.
Minister for Agriculture Mr. Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura chaired the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development Budgam, Project Officer Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), all Block Development Officers (BDO’s) of the District were present in the meeting.
It was given out in the meeting that Rs. 1.12 crore have been distributed among the beneficiaries of District Budgam under IAY till date, as last year liability.
Detailed discussions were also held on Solid Liquid Waste Management (SLWM).
Threadbare discussion was also held on construction of check dams, field channel, irrigation canals and development of springs under IWMP.
It was informed in the meeting that Rs. 2.76 crore has been spent on different works out of a budget provision of Rs. 5.70 crore under IWMP Scheme.
The Minister directed the concerned to conduct a survey in the district especially of areas that were hit by landslides in March this year, including Chontinar, Ladin, upper belt of Chari-sharief and Khan–sahib and prepare detailed project reports (DPRs) for construction of check dams, field channels, irrigation canals and development of springs and submit same to the concerned quarters for funds.
The Minister directed the concerned to expedite pace of work on all developmental projects and ensure these are completed within the stipulated time. Mr. Hanjura directed BDO’s of the district to provide status of all ongoing works under MGNEGRA and list of beneficiaries who have been provided financial assistance under IAY for his perusal.
The Minister directed the concerned to conduct door to door survey and identify deserving households with no sanitary facilities and to ensure construction of latrine points there under norms.
