Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir leads huge pro Freedom demos at Khiram, Anantnag Calls for strengthening of Religious institutions, Release political prisoners: Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir

Islamabad,February 3, 2017,CNS: The Chairman of Ummat e Islami Jammu Kashmir and Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir, Friday lead a huge pro Freedeom Gathering at Khiram sirhama. In his address, Mirwaiz demanded release of all the political prisoners of Kashmir, saying that any dialogue will be futile if Kashmiris are not involved in it. He also highlighted the role of Dargahs and Mosques in political movements.

Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir, during his address on Friday prayers, said that there are still number of people in jails for expressing their political views or dissent against the government.

"The wounds of 2016 uprising are still fresh and we must not forget that our role as a society is to remember the people who sacrificed their comfort for everyone’s benefit. People are in jails for highlighting the political sentiments that we all carry in our hearts. They are being mistreated in prisons and police stations, and the legal procedure is also abused,” he said.

      Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir also highlighted the role played by Dargahs and Mosques in the ongoing political struggle. He said that in every revolution around the world mosques and Dargahs have been at the forefront.

"We should remember any movement couldn’t be run without full support of a society. Mosques and Dargahs are the outlets through which sentiments are shared, people gather and both political and religious knowledge is delivered to the people. We should strengthen these institutions in Kashmir and try to unite under one large banner,” he said.
At last he demanded the release of Sarjan Barkati, Sajjad Hashmi, Ghulam Qadir Butt, Mohamed Shafi Sariyati, Fayaz AhmedTalaq, Peer Mohammed Ashraf, Mohammed Qasim Faktoo, Masrat Alam, Mushtaq ul Islam, Bhat Raouf, Ishfaq Korwal, Nisar Ahmed Bhat, Azad waqar and all other pro resistance detainees.

Mirwaiz Yasir also visited the families of the martyrs and PSA victims In the area.
