Srinagar, February 4,2017 CNS: The incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP), Shabir Ahmad Shah, on Saturday said observing the ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ on February 5, by Pakistan, Azad Kashmir, and Pakistani and Kashmiri people across the world is “encouraging and praiseworthy”.
In a statement issued to press, Shah said, “Observing the ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ by the Government of Pakistan, its people, media and literary fraternity, political, social, religious bodies and the Pakistani and Kashmiri people living across the world is encouraging. We express immense gratitude to them for exhibiting solidarity with their oppressed Kashmiri brethren.”
He said Pakistan’s contribution and support to Kashmiris’ freedom movement is “exemplary”. “We are extremely thankful to every section of Pakistan particularly Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif for their unflinching support. Observing the ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ makes the Kashmir issue echo at international forums,” he said.
Shah said Pakistan must further its endeavours vis-à-vis resolution of Kashmir issue.
In his ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ message, the DFP chairman said, “This Day is aimed at highlighting the plight of oppressed Kashmiris in every nook and corner of the world. As routine, the role the Pakistanis and Kashmiris across the globe play on this day is commendable.”
“Kashmiri nation is committed and steadfast with regard to their demand of right to self-determination from Indian forcible occupation. We hope the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will continue its political, moral and diplomatic support to our just and genuine cause,” Shah said.
Meanwhile, a party spokesperson expressed grief over the martyrdom of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Azaharuddin, alias Ghazi Umar and Sajad Ahmed, alias Babar.who achieved martyrdom while fighting the occupational forces in Sopore.
He said the nation will never forget the sacrifices of martyrs and paid glowing tribute to the martyred commander. (CNS)
