Jammu,February 7,2017 CNS: Legislator Langate, Er. Rasheed on Tuesday condemned police for booking 27 persons of Nutnussa at Baramulla, who had gone to Baramulla to get the dead body of a slain militant.

In a statement, Rasheed asked police to “introspect” and find answer to the question as to why thousands of people were mourning the death of militants while cops were celebrating their death.

He said, “It is shameful that while the village elders visited Baramulla at the directions of Sopore Police, they were booked under various sections by the Baramulla Police. Police force should know that their atrocities and state terrorism contributes in people while cops were celebrating death of two militants, radical stands and chances of reconciliation over minor issues get vanished.”

Rasheed termed it the police “highhandedness and jungle raj”.

“The slain militant belonged to their locality and they had every right to seek his body,” Rasheed said, “Police cops should mend their behaviour.”

He said that it is not only India’s political unrealistic stand but the “brutalities” of various agencies, especially J&K police which compels youth to join militancy.

“While these cops are receiving appreciations from New Delhi, but  New Delhi seems not to be understanding that a section of J&K police is hell bent to ensure that youth should join militancy, as it fetches them perks, privileges and promotions.”

The firebrand lawmaker said that anti-militancy operations have become an industry for few police officers and they are directly responsible for creating a huge wedge between public and the Police force.

Rasheed demanded the release of “27 innocents” without any excuses or be ready to face the public anger especially in Kupwara. (CNS)
