Srinagar,February 9,2017 CNS: Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) President and MLA Khansahib Hakim Muhammad Yasin Thursday said that Government of India's announcement that no separate colonies for Pandits and Saniks would be established in Kashmir is a welcome statement, but it needs clarification to avoid future controversy.
In a statement issued from here, Hakim Yasin said, "We are not against the return of Pandits to Kashmir as they are part and parcel of our society. But creating controversies in the name of establishing Pandit and Sanik colonies is not in the interests of our state. Though the Government of India has announced that there is no proposal to establish separate colonies for Pandits and Saniks in Kashmir, it needs to clarify further so that no controversy is created in future."
He also said that GoI's announcement that there is no proposal to provide identity certificates to West Pakistan Refugees is a welcome statement. (CNS)
