Srinagar February 10 2017 CNS;J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) State Secretary Irfan Naqib has urged upon the Chief Minister to consider wave off of loans availed by Artisans of District Srinagar and elsewhere.
In a statement Naqib said Artisan in valley have suffered immensely due to turbulent situation arising from time to time in the valley, which has badly affected the Tourism Industry also thereby causing heavy losses to Artisans. He said Govt must come out with a package for the Artisans enabling them to carry on with traditional profession.
He said the Artisans from Anchar, Zadibal, Narwara, Nowshera and others areas of Srinagar District have availed loans from different banks long ago, but so far, they have not been able to clear the liabilities due to abject poverty confronting them.
He said Govt must consider waving off loans availed by Artisans enabling these poor peole to sustain themselves and keep this unique profession alive.
