Srinagar,February11,2017 CNS: Claiming that execution of Muhammad Maqbool Bhat was the main cause of eruption of militancy in Kashmir Valley, Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi patron, Muhammad Azam Inqalabi Saturday said that India completely failed to read the mind of Bhat who believed only in psychological warfare. “Some Indian stooges misled the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who hastened the process of executing Maqbool Bhat. Bhat had the capability to bridge the gap between India and Pakistan but his untimely and unjust execution created a political vacuum,” Inqalabi told news agency CNS.
Inqalabi alleged that India neither in past nor in present tolerated the peaceful resistance movement in Kashmir. He said that India believes in political suffocation and denies space to those who want peaceful resolution to Kashmir issue. “Bhat had escaped to Pakistan and there was no need for him to return back to Indian administered Kashmir. He was not a militant. He only believed in psychological warfare. If he would have been a militant and believed in violence, he would have never returned from Pakistan to Kashmir. Still he arrived here along with his two friends Reyaz Ahmed Dar and Abdul Hamid Bhat to protest against Indira-Abdullah Accord and was arrested and later hanged in Tihar Jail,” Inqalabi said and added that Bhat had not murdered the Bank Manager and it was a blunder on part of India to hang him without thinking about the ramifications.
Inqalabi said that even saner voices from India have now been admitting that India has done and has been doing blunders in Kashmir. “After Bhat, India hanged Muhammad Afzal Guroo and again his family was denied his mortal remains. It blinded youth and kids and prolonged the detention of freedom loving people,” he said.
He said that even investigation conducted by Indian sponsored agencies revealed that Maqbool Bhat had not killed the Bank Manager but still Bhat was hanged. “Instead of adopting rational and pragmatic approach, India always believed in coercion and force. It has been stifling the saner voices. It is high time for Resistance leadership to change their strategy and counter the adversary in a productive way,” he said. (CNS)
