Srinagar,February 18,2017 CNS: Defunct draining system Parimpora has been causing immense problems to commuters and inhabitants. The residents of Nathmohalla Parimpora here in Srinagar expressed resentment against the authorities for failing to provide proper drainage system in the area.
“In absence of drainage facility, lanes and by lanes are submerged. It has become difficult for us to even venture out of our homes. Walls and foundation of various houses have developed cracks,” the locals told CNS.
Locals alleged that authorities have failed to execute the proposed drainage project which would cater to waste water. “Neither SMC nor UEED is concerned about our plight, though we have repeatedly been trying to attract their attention towards this waterlogging problem,” said a local Dr Arshid.
A senior official of Srinagar Municipal Corporation said that a dewatering station will be put in place in the area in coming days. (CNS)
