Minster’s cavalcade stoned in Ratnipora ‘Police and Minister refute the incident

Pulwama,February 27,2017 CNS: People’s Democratic Party’s two time legislator and Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry Zahoor Mir’s cavalcade was reportedly attack by group of people with stones in Ratnipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The incident occurred when Mir was on way to Pampore after visiting the bereaved family of PDP’s youth leader Showkat Gayoor whose mother had passed away few day’s back.

     Eyewitnesses said that group of people hurled stones on the cavalcade of Minister when it was passing through Ratnipora market. Witnesses added that security guards of the Minister exercised maximum restraint; however, as the attack intensified, Para-military Central Reserve Police Force fired tear-smoke shells. Witnesses added that three CRPF men suffered minor injuries.

    Zahoor Mir, the MoS refuted the allegations that his cavalcade was attacked by people. He said that there were clashes going on between people and Police and his cavalcade was not touched by the protesters.

    Police also refuted the reports of attack on the Minister of State. A police official said that a cop suffered head injury when protesters hurled stones on police on VIP duty. He said that forces resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the protesters. (CNS)
