Srinagar, March 24, CNS:  On the eve of World Tuberculosis Day, Jammu and Kashmir Development Foundation (JKDF) organized a seminar at its office at Pandash in Srinagar outskirts.

The seminar was organized to build public awareness about the tuberculosis (TB) and JKDF's efforts to eliminate the disease with active participation in the field.

Bilal Parray, Chairman JKDF speaking on the occasion said JKDF was always at the doorsteps of patients to help them. "We are here to help TB patients, so that they don't have to suffer for the want of drugs and other facilities," he said.

Parry appealed government  to open a TB hospital in the Kashmir valley with all latest facilities by spending a portion of budget on it. "We are helping TB patients for some time, but there is a need to have a hospital for these patients," he said.

The organizers have distributed forms among the participants' and asked them to fill these with complete details of TB patients, so that necessary help can be provided to them.

State Coordinator, Riyaz Ahmad Parray on the occasion appealed the people to refrain from self medication advised them to consult doctors for the better healthcare. "There are frequent infections and viruses reports among the people, we have to be careful to prevent ourselves from these diseases," he said.

Vice-Chairman, Arif Amin Teli also spoke on the occasion. "JKDF is committed to the welfare of people," he said, adding, people should come forward to support the cause.
