Kanpur: A student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Kalyanpur in Kanpur who attempted suicide by consuming sleeping pills and phenyl on Saturday, alleged harassment by his teachers. The Kalyanpur student is hospitalised in a critical condition.
The student identified as Arsh blamed the school management saying that the Principal and teachers in school used to insult him for being a Muslim.
His bags were checked on suspicion of having a gun. Objectionable words were also used against him and he was left isolated is school on instructions of the teachers. The victim said that the teachers made it difficult for him to survive in school as he directed students to not talk with him.
In his suicide note, Arsh, resident of Swaroop Nagar in Kanpur, made some serious allegations against four teachers, including school principal.
“I joined the school two months back. No one talked to me because teacher asked them not to. Teachers and students targeted and taunted at me,” student said.
“His bag was checked and he was told he has gun in his bag, so it’s being done. Students were asked to stay away from him. He was depressed,” victim’s mother said.
Based on a complaint filed by her parents, Kanpur Deputy Superintendent of Police said that case has been registered under Section 305 against the school and the action will be taken based on probe.
“The case has been registered. Further action will be taken based on probe. As per suicide note he took step after four teachers tortured him,” Kanpur Deputy SP said.
