Death of Elderly Man: ‘It was an accident’

Anantnag, Oct 6, CNS: While reacting to the news reports that an elderly person mistaken as braid chopper has died after he was hit by a brick, a police official said that they don’t have any information about the incident.

Station House Officer Anantang told news agency CNS that even family of the deceased has stayed away and has not filed any complaint.

The family of the deceased person Abdul Samad Wani of Danter village of Anantnag in South Kashmir refused to talk to CNS, however, the relatives said that Wani was hit by a brick thrown by his own teenager relative. “Wani had come out from his house on Thursday night while his 15 year old relative present in the premises of the house got frightened and he threw a brick on him. There was no crowd but it was an isolated incident,” they said.

The relatives added that it was just an accident and the family doesn’t want to make it an issue. (CNS)
