Locals handover suspected braid choppers to police in Ganderbal
Ganderbal, Oct 21, CNS: Six people, who were roaming suspiciously in an Alto car in Repora village of district Ganderbal, were caught by the locals on suspicion of being braid choppers were handed over to police.
SHO Lar Nisar Ahmad said that, “We received information that some suspicious people were being held by the residents of Repora. We rushed to the spot and arrested these people.”
He added that after questioning it came to fore that six boys were from Saderkote Bala of district Bandipora.
“We have come to know that one of them have developed a relationship with a local girl of the area. The boy had brought other friends along woth him,” SHO Lar said.
The SHO also said that the police is regularly interacting with the public to seek their cooperation.
He said that, “Handing over people directly to police without harming them is a positive result.”
Over 120 incidents of braid chopping have been reported from different parts of the Valley during the last two month.
However, no one has been arrested by the Jammu Kashmir Police as of yet.
Locals and the Joint Resistance Leadership allege that the “security agencies” are responsible for these incidents.
