Srinagar, Apr 3, CNS: Normal life continued to remain paralyzed in Kashmir for second consecutive day against the South Kashmir killings.

Commercial establishments and offices remained closed, while public transport remained off the roads. Educational institutions have been closed across Kashmir.

In summer capital Srinagar, particularly old city, curbs were imposed by authorities to thwart any attempts of people taking out any protest demonstrations.

In uptown areas of Srinagar scattered private vehicles were seen plying on roads.

South Kashmir districts continue to remain tense, where militant and civilian killings took place on Sunday. Internet remains shut over there. Roads in southern districts of Kashmir wore a deserted look with government forces manning the streets.

Similar reports poured in from central and north Kashmir districts.

The call for shutdown was given by separatist amalgam of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik who have been put under detention.

13 militants, four civilians and three army soldiers were killed in day long clashes in Shopian and Anantnag districts on Sunday. Over 200 protesters were injured in forces’ action.

Barring Kangan where massive clashes erupted after the death of local youth, minor clashes were reported from Lasjan and Soura areas. Reports said that clashes also erupted in Sopore town.

Reports said that restrictions remained in vogue in Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama and Anantnag.
