Srinagar, April 11-CNS: A Gunfight Started in Khudwani village of Kulgam district in South Kashmir late Tuesday night. News agency CNS reported that the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Khudwani village late Tuesday evening which resulted in the establishment of fire contact between militants and security forces at 11:45 PM, thus ensuing an encounter.
An official said that 2 to 3 militants are present in the village and the encounter is still going on.
Reports said that 2 army men and a CRPF trooper have suffered injuries and have been evacuated to 92 Base Army Hospital in Srinagar.
Authorities have suspended the mobile internet services in parts of Kulgam and Anantnag areas.
Clashes have also erupted in the area and six additional companies of CRPF have been rushed to the area to tackle the law and order situation.
A police official said that area has been completely sealed to prevent people from moving towards the encounter site. Intermittent firing is going on between militants and Government Forces. (CNS)
