Civilian death toll mounts to three in south Kashmi

Srinagar,May 6,CNS: Civilian death toll in clashes following a gunfight in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday mounted to three with the killing of Adil Ahmad who was declared dead on arrival at district hospital Kulgam.
Adil, a resident of Ashmuji in Kulgam district, was injured after army men opened fire in Behibagh village of Kulgam.Four others were injured in the firing.
Earlier, a civilian, identified as Sajad Ahmad of Verinag Dooru, was killed after forces fired at protesters in Chitragam village of Shopian who were demonstrating against the death of five militants in a gunfight.
A civilian, identified as Asif Ahmad of Rohomo village of Pulwama succumbed at SMHS hospital in Srinagar. He was critically injured in clashes near the site of the gunfight in Badigam village.
