Kuala Lumpur, PArmy pay tribute to soldier killed in South Kashmir shootout

Srinagar: Army today paid tribute to Sepoy Vikram Singh who was killed in Kakapore village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district after militants attacked an Army camp there.

In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the slain soldier.

In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to departed soldier, reads a statement issued by Defence Department.
Vikram Singh sustained bullet injury during a standoff attack by the militants. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.

Vikram Singh, was 25 years old and had joined the Army in 2013. He belonged to Village Ladpur of Chhata Tehsil in Mathura District, Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his wife.

The mortal remains of the Singh were flown for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours.ublish Date: May 29 2018
