Shopian,July 10 CNS: At least 2 army soldiers including a Junior Commissioned Officer were injured after a fierce gunfight raged between militants and Government Forces in Kundalan village of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The latest reports said the gunfight sparked clashes when a large number of youth took to road and pelted stones on deployed forces who retaliated with pellets and tear smoke shells.
A police official said that few militants are trapped in the village while joint Forces including 34 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army are on job.
Meanwhile, the 2 soldiers who received bullet injuries have been evacuated to Army hospital Srinagar.
The gunfight and the clashes were simultaneously going on till the filing of this report.
