Kulgam, July 27, CNS: A security guard and a civilian were injured after unknown gunmen stormed into Jammu Kashmir Bank Branch located at Mahmudpora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.
Reports said that with an intention to loot the Mahmudpora branch of Jammu Kashmir Bank, a couple of unknown gunmen barged into the bank, however, when the alert security guard there tried to stop them, the armed men opened fire resulting in the injuries of bank guard and a civilian.
Sources said that a bank employee Ashaq Hussain Itoo was also among the injured. Hussain received a bullet in his hand while the security guard Muhammad Ashraf who has been admitted in the hospital has suffered bullet injury in his hip.
A police official said they are investigating the matter. He added that no cash from the bank has been looted.
Meanwhile, unidentified persons decamped with a 12 bore rifle of a bank security guard at main branch Shopian. (CNS)
