Shah Irshad-ul-Qadri elected President of Pulwama Working Journalist Association

Pulwama,Aug 1 CNS:The working journalists of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district framed a body, Pulwama Working Journalist Association, PWJA, on Wednesday.

PWJA, which has 28 working journalists as members held elections to elect various office bearers.

Shah Irshad-ul-Qadri was unanimously elected as president, Nisal-ul-Haq Secretary, Javid Sofi Spokesperson and Mir Altaf Hussain Treasurer cum office Secretary.Bringi

The elected body nominated Shabnam Fayaz, Younis Khaliq, Bilal Khan and Mudasir Maqbool as executive members while Romi Nazir will function as coordinator.

Senior Journalist and patron PWJA, Mir Yasir Haneef hailed the members for holding successful elections.

He said journalists in Kashmir particularly in South are facing tremendous challenges which can be me only by showing united face and coordination.

Meanwhile, PWJA had an interactive session with District Development Commissioner Pulwama GM Dar that was facilitated by District Information officer Zubair Ahmad Latoo.Bringi

DDC Pulwama expressed satisfaction and congratulated journalist fraternity over electing a body in a democratic manner.

Various issues facing journalist fraternity of Pulwama were brought into the notice of concerned deputy Commissioner. Shah Irshad Ul Qadri, president PWJA, reiterated demand for Press Club in Pulwama.
