Srinagar, Aug 14, CNS: Army Tuesday paid tribute to Sepoy Pushpendra Singh who was killed during Counter Infiltration operations on 13 Aug in Tangdhar Sector of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the slain soldier.
In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the slain soldier.
Sepoy Pushpendra Singh sustained bullet injury during the gun battle at Tangdhar, Kupwara district. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to the 92 Base Hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Sepoy Pushpendra Singh, was 28 years old and had joined the Army in 2011. He belonged to Village Khutiya of Mathura District, Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his wife and a son.
His mortal remains were flown for last rites to his native place. (CNS)
