Train service suspended in North Kashmir

Sopore, Sep 13, CNS: Train services have been suspended between Srinagar and Baramulla as a precautionary measure on Thursday following a gunfight between militants and government forces in Arampora area of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“We have suspended train services between Srinagar-Baramulla in north Kashmir for security reasons,” a railway official said.

However, trains continued to chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad – Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal to Jammu region as per schedule, officials said.
