Pulwama, Oct 25, CNS: The locals from Parigam village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have appealed district administration to stop illegal soil cutting during night hours.

They said that scores of tractors and tippers emerge in Parigam village during night hours and resort to soil erosion on state land.

“People with some vested interest have eaten up whole state land in the village. The noisy atmosphere in the village during night hours creates lot of inconvenience to students who are unable to study,” the locals told news agency CNS and demanded action against these miscreants.

The locals said whenever they approach them, the drivers show them permission from district administration for soil cutting. However, a district official said that they have not given any permission to any one for illegal soil cutting. “We will initiate action against those who resort to soil cutting illegally in the village,” he said.
