Srinagar, Jan 7 CNS: In view of the changing weather conditions, Dr.Kunzes Dolma had an extensive tour of district Ganderbal to ensure implementation of instructions is taken care of at the gross root levels. DHSK visited District Hospital Ganderbal, where it was observed that some of the staff was not punctual and on spot instructions were issued to Medical Superintendent to ensure punctuality of the staff to ensure that health care delivery services are being provided to the patients during emergencies. Medical Superintendent was directed to ensure that cleanliness; sanitation and colour coding are maintained and managed as per the Standard Operating Procedures in vogue. It was observed that Dr.Jehangir (PG Radiodiagnosis), Medical Officer who was supposed to be on duty was absent and Dr.Shubana Rasool, Consultant Gynecologist had left the station with seeking proper permission as envisaged under rules and as such were placed under suspension with immediate effect and were attached to Directorate of Health Services. While her visit was hailed by the public at large, the patients in particular along with their attendants felt a difference during the interaction with DHSK. She was appraised by the attendants and patients that the facilities were being provided with all due care at the health institution irrespective of some doctors who usually remain absent from their duties and on spot action was initiated against them.
During the visit to Public Health Center Wusan, it was observed that Dr.Aijaz Ahmad, Medical Officer and Dr.Qasim, Medical Officer was absent from legitimate duty and as such were placed under suspension on spot. DHSK was appraised about the heating arrangements in the health institutions and it was observed that Public Health Center Wusan, Hariganwan and Public Health Center Kullan need proper heating arrangements and on spot instructions were given to Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal, Dr.Kasana to ensure that the arrangements are in place with immediate effect.
Director Health Services Kashmir conveyed clear cut instructions that indiscipline, unethical practices cannot be borne at the cost of patient care and every personnel within the system irrespective of any level shall have to abide by rules in vogue. The action taken by DHSK was hailed by the public at large and patients in particular(CNS).
