Kargil,Jan 12 CNS: Asgar Ali Karbalaie, former Member of Legislative Assembly from Kargil led a delegation comprising of Executive Councilor Works, NasirHussainMunshi and former Minister Haji Nissar Ali from Kargil had a meeting with His Excellency the Governor,. Satya Pal Malik in Jammu on 10 January
Expressing gratitude to His Excellency the Governor, J&K, Asgar Ali Karbalaie thanked him for taking personal interest in facilitating and providing active support to Ladakh region in addressing relevant issues. Regarding the all important issue of providing the Divisional Status to Ladakh region, Karbalaie requested that this should be put on fast track and recommended that the Headquarter of the Division should be kept on rotation basis in the districts of Kargil (Summer) and Leh (Winter) and that different directorates should be positioned on 50-50 basis. He also urged that the Directorates should function under the overall control and superintendence of the two LAHDC’s of Kargil&Leh. Appreciating the decision of State Administrative Council (SAC) of granting University to Ladakh, Karbalaie, suggested and recommended that the present Kargil and Leh campuses of University of Kashmir, should be upgraded by introducing all streams in both the campuses on the analogy of Central University.
During the meeting, Karbalaie also urged His Excellency the Governor, for sanction of special duty allowance to the employees of Ladakh region. He urged that His Excellency the Governor should personally intervene in the matter and issue formal orders for release of special duty allowance in favour of the employees of Ladakh region. The delegation also requested His Excellency the Governor for taking urgent action for creation of a separate PWD (R&B) Circle in Kargil to carry out the works of prestigious Kargil-Zanskar National Highway Project.
After giving a patient hearing to the demands of the delegation, led by Asgar Ali Karbalaie, His Excellency the Governor, Sh, Satya Pal Malik, assured Karbalaie that all the issues would be given their due importance and take up the matter with the Central Government authorities for early resolution, during his visit to New Delhi in the 3rd week of January 2019, His Excellency the Governor, assured Karbalaie that these issues would be addressed on priority and also urged that Karbalaie should continue his efforts towards public welfare.
