Loss of Civilians unfortunate, condemnable:Congress

Describing the civilian killings in South Kashmir as very unfortunate, Senior Congress Leader Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday while condemning the use of Force on civilian, strongly condemned the civilian killings and injuries to dozens, saying that the loss of civilians could have been averted.

In a Statement issued in the backdrop of series of encounters in South Kashmir, Khanday expressed serious concern over the civilian killings and injuries to dozens of people, saying that situation has deteriorated fraught with serious consequences.

He blamed both State and Centre Govt for failing to restore peace in the valley, rather the wrong approach adopted by both PDP-BJP with regard to Kashmir was responsible for deteriorating situation.

Adding that Security Forces must exercise restraint while dealing with Militancy related activities, Congress Leader urged that the Security Forces must add more importance to lives of civilian and ensure that no civilian causality happens in the larger interests of peace, he said.
