Court extends judicial remand of Masrat Aalam till June 7
Current News Service (CNS)Srinagar, May 28, CNS: A local court on Saturday sent pro freedom leader and chairman Jammu Kashmir Muslim League Masarat Aalam Bhat to 11 days of judicial remand to sub jail Baramulla.
Muslim League spokesperson Muhammad Rafiq Ganaie told CNS that Aalam was produced in the court of Third Munsif where his judicial remand was extended up to June 7 next month.
He said that Aalam was shifted from police station Shaheed Gunj to Sub jail Baramullah for 11 days of judicial remand.
Spokesman said a few days back he was bailed out by Budgam court in a case related to sedition. However, despite court directions, Aalam was not released.
Masarat Alam is facing incarceration since 2010. He was released in March 2015 but only after 40 days he was again arrested on charges of sedition when he allegedly waved Pakistani flags during a welcome rally of ailing Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani. (CNS)
