‘Stop holding public trial: Ehsan Mirza
Srinagar, Sep 5, CNS: Asking the present body of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association to stop holding a public trial and desist from leveling false allegations, erstwhile Treasurer of JKCA, Ehsan Mirza Saturday said that it is the prerogative of Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) and not of JKCA to probe the alleged scams. “Everything will be clear once CBI will probe the matter. False allegations will not work. It is worth to be seen whether money given by BCCI to JKCA has been spent in right direction or not,” Mirza told CNS.
Pertinently, the JKCA faction led by Sports Minister Imran Ansari on Friday alleged that during financial year 20007-08, the then JKCA officials mainly Treasurer Ehsan Mirza had opened a “hidden” account at J&K Bank’s Zoonimar branch in the name of the Association “through which a loan of around 15-crores was raised and subsequently transferred to two personal accounts.
Mirza admitted that an account was opened up in the name of JKCA at J&K Bank’s Zoonimar branch but said that each and every penny in the account was used in the activities of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. “I was glad to hear that CBI will probe the scam, let the facts surface and everything will be clear,” he said.
