Mirwaiz Umar Farooq commended people of Kashmir for observing complete strike

09 February 2015,Yassar Yousuf,CNS:- Commending the people of Kashmir for observing complete strike on the second martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohammad Afzal Guroo and for the demand of the return of his mortal remains from Tihar Jail, APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Dr. Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq said that showing complete commitment and steadfastness towards the freedom movement was the only way to achieve the goals of Kashmiri martyrs.Mirwaiz Umar (22) (1)

APHC Chairman also condemned the government imposed curfew in many parts of Srinagar, arrests of pro-freedom leadership, workers and activists, and raids on their houses. He said policy of repression and political hegemony would in no break the resolve of Kashmiris towards freedom struggle.

APHC Chairman has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of businessman and owner of SAIFCO Khwaja Saifudin Neelam. Expressing his sympathy and solidarity with the sons of the deceased including Altaf Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad and other family members, Mirwaiz said that the deceased has close family relations with the Mirwaiz family.

Paying rich tributes to the deceased for his contributions in social and business sectors, Mirwaiz offered special prayers for the deceased.

Meanwhile, the spokesman has condemned the arrest of Senior Hurriyat Leader and Member Executive Council APHC Mukhtar Ahmad Waza ,who has been lodged in Sadar Police Station Islamabad(Anantnag) from Saturday 7th Feb evening, house arrest of Zaffar Akbar Bhat, and raids by police on the houses of Javaid Ahmad Mir and other Hurriyat leaders and activists.

Meanwhile,Senior Hurriyat Leaders including Musadiq Adil and Ghulam Hassan Mir and other Hurriyat leaders and workers. visited the house of Martyr Mohammad Afzal Guroo in Sopore  to participate in the Duawaiya Majlis.
