Shabir Shah lauds Pak PM Nawaz Sharif’s statement vis-à-vis Kashmir dispute
Srinagar, Feb 18, CNS: Hailing the statement of Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif with regard to Kashmir dispute, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman and Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) leader Shabir Ahmad Shah Wednesday termed it ‘encouraging’ for the ongoing freedom struggle of Jammu Kashmir. He also said there is a dire need of formulating a future course of action for prioritising the resolution of Kashmir issue in the next month Indo-Pak talks.
In a statement issued to CNS, Shabir Ahmad Shah said that during the period of 68 years, the dialogue process between India and Pakistan has taken place more than 100 times but has failed to yield any fruitful results due to “unrealistic, insincere and stubborn attitude of India.” “Such obstinate approach of India is main reason for the continuous confrontation between the two nuclear neighboring nations of the subcontinent and is giving rise to uncertain political condition in the whole region. It is an acknowledged fact that Kashmir issue is a nuclear flash point, if it is not resolved at earliest the shadows of war between these nuclear powers would loom large over the subcontinent,” Shah said. Terming the ‘noble’ endeavors of Pakistani Nation and its Premier Mian Nawaz Sharif vis-à-vis Kashmir issue as commendable, Shabir Ahmad Shah said this issue should be resolved as per United Nations Resolutions or through tripartite dialogue (India, Pakistan and wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris). Shah said instead of making the dialogue process trade centric the talks should be made meaningful by taking on board the real and genuine representatives of Jammu and Kashmir. “Without the involvement of real stakeholders in the talks, it is foolish to anticipate any positive outcome.” Expressing his anguish over the continuous oppression and suppressive policy adopted by authorities across the state, Shah invited the attention of the world powers towards the issue and said India should be made accountable for using brute force over the people of Jammu Kashmir through its forces. Meanwhile, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) while expressing serious grief over the sad demise of maternal uncle of JKLF (R) general secretary Wajahat Qureshi extended its heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the bereaved family. In this connection, on the direction of DFP Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah, a delegation led by Molvi Bashir Ahmad visited the residence of bereaved and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul besides participating in the funeral prayers.
